At CSB, our employees are our most valuable assets. So, from time to time we’d like to take the opportunity to highlight some the great work they do by featuring a particular department and its staff.
Loan Servicing
After you have signed all of the paperwork on your consumer, mortgage or commercial loan, your loan file is sent to the Loan Servicing area. There, it is booked to our computer system and monitored until it is paid in full.
Primary functions that take place in Loan Servicing:
- Processing of property taxes
- Quoting and processing of loan payoffs
- Monitoring of homeowners insurance and premiums from escrow
- Sending out payment books
- Secondary market reporting
- Posting mail payments
All of the servicing of your loan is done locally so if you should have an inquiry it is very easy and convenient for you to get your questions answered by a real person.

What is your favorite thing about working at CSB?
CSB is a small community bank so it is great to know all of the staff. It’s really like one big family here. For example CSB likes to celebrate with all of the staff just as you would do with your own family; baby showers, retirements, holidays, etc.
Which of your skills do you find the most helpful in doing your job?
The skills I find most helpful are: staying calm cool and collective during difficult situations. For example, the Loan Servicing department must pay out a few thousand tax bills each year for our customers, these bills are all due at different times throughout the year, so by staying calm, cool, and collective we can get all bills paid in an organized and timely manner.
I also find as an Assistant Manager that being flexible is an important ability that assists the entire department. This skill enables me to be more effective with my direct job as well as with my staff and co-workers, which in turn is a benefit to our customers. I feel that my staff understands that if they should need something right away from me, I will always be there for them.
Do you have any hobbies?
One of my favorite hobbies is to read books because I find it very relaxing. I enjoy a variety of books from mysteries to science fiction. Dean Koontz, Jodi Picoult, Alice Hoffman are just a few of the authors that I have read, I wish I could only be as creative as my favorite authors.
Another relaxing hobby that I enjoy involves being outdoors where you will find me out on a variety of bike trails getting some fresh air and exercise.

What is your favorite thing about working at CSB?
There is always something going on for employees. The Bank has a committed Activities Committee that organizes many events during the year, from dressing in green for St. Patrick’s Day to organizing lunch time cookouts in the summer to hosting and organizing the Holiday dinner and dance during the holidays. These events really bring the staff together in positive ways, and make our work time more enjoyable.
I also enjoy helping people obtain consumer loans. I get a sense of satisfaction helping people with their real life challenges. My co-workers and I understand the needs of our customers; we feel we are helping our neighbors and not just doing work. Because we all work together to help the customer, I feel like I am not just a Bank employee but part of a team.
Which of your skills do you find the most helpful in doing your job?
I enjoy people and I like to problem solve which is a good combination in my job when customers call with questions about their consumer loans. I like to learn new things; this really is important as we make changes at the Bank to better serve our customers with new technology and updated products and services.
Do you have any hobbies?
My hobbies are camping and other outdoor activities. One of my favorite places to camp is beside a small pond in Cornish where we can enjoy swimming, making campfires, and cooking and eating s’mores. I also enjoy hiking and canoeing in the White Mountains and Acadia National Park.
