ID Theft/Phishing

Are you interested in finding out about identity theft and ways to reduce the risk of falling prey to fraudulent activity? In this section we offer informational sources that may help you protect yourself from identity theft. Don't get caught off-guard by a clever scam artist. Read on to find out more about steps you can take personally to protect yourself.

"Phishing" is a very popular method used by identity thieves to obtain personal information through a computer. Identity thieves use e-mail to "fish" the Internet hoping to "hook" you into giving them your logins, passwords, social security and/or credit card information. This is called social engineering.
Fake check scams are becoming one of the more prevalent forms of fraud. Fake check scams come in many different forms in order to try and steal your money.
