Community “Regeneration Day” set for August 6

Jun 8, 2011 -  Residents will have the opportunity to improve and give back to their community during the fourth annual Community Regeneration Day on Saturday, August 6 at Claremont Savings Bank, 145 Broad Street from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Claremont Savings Bank as well as other local businesses and organizations will be collecting a variety of much-needed items, from aluminum cans to winter coats, for reuse and redistribution.

“We are excited to have many local organizations come together again to collect a number of items that carry a large demand in the surrounding community,” said Denise Roberts, Loan Officer and Regeneration Day Coordinator. “We support this effort to recycle because it unites the community in an environmentally-friendly way and helps members of our community who need a hand in a great way.”

Several organizations will solicit donations or offer services that day including:

Vendor Collecting
Animal Control Cat litter, cat and dog food, etc.
Boy Scouts Aluminum cans
Claremont Lions Club Eye glasses and hearing aids
Claremont Savings Bank DVDs for Veterans and document shredding (limit 5 cartons)
Claremont Soup Kitchen Non-perishable items
Families in Transition Children’s clothing, children’s bedding and toiletries
Future Business Leaders of America(FBLA) at SHS/SRVRTC Toner cartridges, ink cartridges, 5-cent VT redeemable bottles and plastic containers
Turning Points Network Cell phones, smart phones (blackberries, iPhones), etc.
United Way of Sullivan County Winter coats, hats, mittens, etc.
Wincycle Computers and related items (small fee applies)

























“We greatly appreciate any donations from community members and look forward to another successful and event,” Roberts added.
