Successful Retirement Seminar Inspires Claremont Savings Bank to Provide Additional Offerings

Jun 1, 2010 -  After completing a successful series on retirement finances, Claremont Savings Bank says it will offer more free seminars on banking and financial matters in the near future.

“We’ve had nothing but rave reviews from our customers and the community.  There’s a real need and appreciation for these kinds of informational sessions in the Upper Valley,” said CSB President Sherwood Moody.  He says additional seminars are being planned to meet the needs of their customers.

Officials say their recent seminar, “Road to Retirement,” surpassed their expectations for participation and educational quality.  The seminars consisted of three two-hour sessions on topics such as estate planning, social security benefits, and managing retirement investments.  Nationally-known speaker and life coach Melita DeBellis offered tips on making the most of one’s later years.  There was also a panel discussion with financial advisors and recent retirees.

“We want people to see Claremont Savings Bank not only as an institution, but as a resource for themselves and their families.  We’re still the place where you can cash a check or open a savings account, but we’re also the place where you can get information on Roth IRAs or teach children how to handle their own account,” said Moody.

Moody thanked Kathy Conant, Vice President, Branch Administration, for her leadership in organizing the seminar. Conant said she was very pleased with the public’s positive response.  Moody told those who attended the Road to Retirement seminar to watch for similar events that Claremont Savings Bank hopes to have in the future.
