TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION

Introduction

Two Factor Authentication is a new security feature that will change the way you sign on to Claremont Savings Bank's Online Banking service.  You will continue to use your existing sign-on ID and password, but you will also be asked to enter three (3) values from a unique matrix.

Implementing Your Account to Two Factor Authentication

The first time Two Factor Authentication is enabled on your account, you will sign on as normal using your sign-on ID and password. When the system has validated your sign-on information, you will see a screen similar to the one below:

Note: If you block certain e-Mails, you may need to add: info@claremontsavings.com to your allowed e-mail list before pressing confirm on this screen.

Your current home e-mail address is  displayed as well as your work e-mail address if you provided it to us.

You will need to:

  1. Verify that the e-mail address displayed is correct

  2. Click the home or work button to indicate where the Matrix will be delivered

  3. Click confirm

If there is no e-mail address or the address is incorrect you need to update this information.

  1. Type in the correct e-mail information.

  2. Click the home or work button to indicate where the Matrix will be delivered.

  3. Click Confirm.

Once the e-Mail validation form is submitted, a unique randomly generated matrix of code values will be sent to the email address you designated.

Retrieving your Matrix

  1. Minimize or close your Online Banking screen

  2. Sign into your e-mail and open the following file

The e-mail message and matrix will look similar to the one displayed below:

Please print the matrix and keep it with you or store it in a secure place. Your matrix should be handled in a manner similar to your debit or credit card. You will need the matrix each time you sign on to Online Banking.

Note:  Your Matrix Card should display as the example above. If the columns do not line up correctly it is a setting you have in Outlook or Outlook Express. To correct this issue for Outlook users go into the “Tools” menu, select “Options”, and then click “Preferences.” Click “E-mail Options”, and then select  “Read all standard mail in plain text” check box.  To correct this issue for Outlook Express users go into the  “Tools” menu, select “Options”, select the “Read” tab, then click the “read all message to plain” check box.

Signing into Online Banking using the Matrix

  1. Close out of your e-mail and go into Online Banking.Enter your Sign On ID and password.
  2. Enter the three (3) values from the matrix that are requested; in our example using the matrix and sign-on screen displayed below, the values would be 9 for G5, 9 for E2 and 3 for E4.

Once you have entered in your Matrix values, click the Sign On button and you will be signed on to Online Banking to conduct business as usual. When you are finished, you may sign off.

Remember, each time you sign into Online Banking, you will be requested to enter your sign-on ID and Password and three (3) values from the matrix.  The values requested will change each time you sign on, so be sure to keep your matrix in an easily accessible place, such as your wallet, or purse, etc.
